Neponsit Real Estate

ap-neponsitShopping for real estate in New York may bring you to a part of Queens called Neponsit, a name that refers to its location between Jamaica Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Neponsit rests on the west side of Rockaway Peninsula.

Potential home buyers shopping for Neponsit real estate with the hopes of living in a small community are in luck. There are only about 2,000 people living in the neighborhood full of single family residences, and the entire neighborhood is no bigger than 32 total city blocks. Because of the small-town feel this section of the city possesses, neighbors tend to have tight-knit connections. Some realtors recommend renting a beach house in the neighborhood for a week or two before committing to a home.

Shopping for a home in the area, you will not be surprised to find a combination of small beach bungalows and large extravagant mansions. Neponsit real estate is desirable to some for its large beach homes. When the community obtained its charter in 1910, it was meant to consist of exclusive and expensive multi-million dollar homes. The public beach is popular among those who want to tan and picnic on the sand, even among those from out of the area. Potential home buyers should be aware that the neighborhood bans street parking during the hot summer months.

Most of all, the neighborhood is known for its relaxing mood. Neponsit real estate is ideal for those who want to get away from the busy city life but do not want to live far from work and entertainment. Living in Neponsit does not mean you are settling, however. The school district has a great reputation and there is ample transportation by bus and shuttle.
